Meet us

Erin

erin
My beads say FOXY, but in the real world I go by Erin and I serve as elecTONIC’s main source of estrogen. I’m a life long lover of music festivals and dance parties, and I keep a continually growing list of festivals all over the world that I will hopefully one day attend. My musical interests dip into almost every genre, but lately I’m into dirty Dutch and disco house, in addition to my main house, electro-house, and dubstep staples. I love music swaps, raves, and random elecTONIC meetings, through which I made many of my friends here in the wonderful world of Berkeley.

Outside of music and nightlife, I’m into piercing, art, meeting new people, traveling, beach days, food, and working towards my degree in chemical engineering.

FCK

evan_mason

Evan, who goes by the music moniker FCK, is known for creating mediocre youtube videos and attempting to DJ. His taste in music of the electronic sort is anything that is danceable, though liberal applications of sawtooth are near necessity.

Outside of elecTONIC, the mysterious man studies the arcane art of numerological manipulation and money studies in the heart of the Berkeley metropolis, though he hails originally from the decent town of Santa Cruz (and no he has never surfed). His interests include cleaning supplies, adult brownies (ZOMGWTFROFL SO GUD U HAF 2 TRY IT NOMNOMNOMNOM) and hamsters. A bucolic man in a turbulent world, Evan lives by the words of Calvin: “That’s the difference between me and the rest of the world! Happiness isn’t good enough for me! I demand euphoria!”

A-Game

andrew_mam

Peace! My name is Andrew and I’m a transfer student here at Berkeley. A-Game is my Bboy/dancer name as well as general-all-around-alias and I rep Hybrid Crew (thus T-Shirt). I came to love electronic music in the search for a musical medium to experiment on with different dance styles. I ended up finding an open community full of kindness and respect, and most especially no judging eyes.

My musical interests are often shifting but I still have my set few favorite feelings from electronic music. As of late, I’ve been into Deep, Tribal drums on house tracks (Laidback Luke & A-Trak – Shake it Down, DJ Chuckie vs LMFAO – Let the Bass Kick in Miami). I still stick to my hip hop roots with midway artists such as Hudson Mohawke, Edit & the Glitch Mob, Flying Lotus, and Nosaj Thing. Dubstep has played a huge part in my dance experimentation as well. Not to say I don’t love house! (Or house dancing)

Finally, for me, music and dance are always about the feeling and the story. I want to share that with people through elecTONIC. Peace!

KoolKat

mack

a.k.a Mack Levine, Koolkat is an Electro House, Breaks, and Mashup DJ. He strives to attain a bizarre salad of a sound that combines elements of acid, funk, disco, dance hall, Latin house and old school rave with the modern, dirty electro sound along with some pop music remixes and acapellas thrown in just for fun.

While he’s not searching for tracks that push this sound, he focuses his energy on mixing the faster, harder rave sounds of Freeform UK Hardcore, Hard Techno, Hard House, Hard Trance, and Drum ‘n Bass. (He lives and breathes this stuff).

His biggest influences are The KLF and a weird hardcore supergroup called CLSM. He’s currently trying his hand at production. At the moment, results are “varied.”

. KAIFENG .

n1241450_42943455_6947

Hey guys, I’m Chris Richardson, and as a producer I go by the name KAIFENG. I produce trance, house, drum & bass, and other non-catagorizable styles of music. Earliest influences are the psytrance arists Infected Mushroom and psybreaks artist Violet Vision. More recent influences include drum & bass monsters Noisia and Spor, and the electro house big-man-on-campus Deadmau5. Favorite cereals include but are not limited to Apple Jacks and Honey Bunches of Oats. I’ve been trying to figure out what my favorite color is since the fourth grade, but I can’t ; they’re all just so damn good O_O. I put my most recent tracks on the website linked to the right. -> KAIFENG’s TRACKS

ElecTONIC exists to help spread the love of all kinds of electronic dance music across the campus of UC Berkeley, and I love being a part of that. You can find me at our general meetings on Wednesdays as well as at the music production class I teach on Thursdays. If you have questions or just want to shoot the breeze, then my contact info is below.

Inter

Me :D
What’s up, everybody, I’m Tevye “Inter” Friedlander, an 18-year-old remixer, composer, and naïve freshman. I don’t really remember how I first got into the wide world of Electronic Dance Music, but DJ Tiesto’s Parade of the Athletes definitely had something to do with it. At the present moment I’m currently addicted to Boys Noize, Shadow Dancer, and almost anything that comes off a French indie label, whether it’s any good or not.

I help run the blog and am the unofficial “lounge DJ” of the elecTONIC crew. You can listen to my big-beat inspired downtempo work on my Myspace.
