Ashley Wallbridge

If anyone follows the weekly trance radio shows they might be noticing some particularly “intense” trance songs. I don’t mean a hard hitting bass drum, but rather synths that pierce you and make you feel really tingly inside… I want to share a recent favorite of mine, upcoming producer Ashley Wallbridge.
This was the song that got me into Ashley Wallbridge originally.
So I went deeper in the rabbit hole… this is very intense:
Meighan’s voice is pretty…

Dance to John Roman
by mezz on November 16th, 2009 || Uncategorized || [2 Comments]

It’s about time for you to check out what little-known Canadian DJ and producer John Roman has been brewing.
Imagine Boys Noize playing an awesome set at Coachella. Now imagine it starts hailing guitars like lightning bolts and absolutely everyone dies.
“Carnivores” should give you a pretty good idea (start it at 1:00 if you want the club experience):
Get your headphones on for “Who’s Afraid of Cornelius?” (referring of course to Cornelius by The Bloody Beetroots)
Heads Will Roll (John Roman remix) by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs:
It’s a lot softer, but absolutely indispensable.
Less than 2000 listeners on last.fm! Give this guy some publicity!
- Bonus Zone:
- Martyr – John Roman
- Ready For This – John Roman
- Carnivores – John Roman
- Panther (John Roman remix) – DJ Barletta

European Club Trends and 2010
by justin on November 15th, 2009 || Uncategorized || [3 Comments]

Two words:
Audio. Jacker.
Seriously. European club trends seem to go in 2 year cycles, and if you’ve been to euro-styled SF clubs like Ruby Skye you’ll have heard a lot of tech house in 2008 and 2009. While we in America, and in places across the world are still pushing the energy of electro into further territory, europe moved on before things got good and headed into other territory, tech, before getting bored with that too.
2010: Disco. It’s fun, it’s free, and by God it’s good dance music.
My English contact, a full time club DJ in the thick of what’s hot, recently shared with me a tune that is killing dance floors across the Atlantic–but really only getting play in forward thinking clubs.
Those of you who caught me at Electro Pop Rocks last week might remember it.
I present to you:
